Main Talk: Cartridge Conservation (http://cartridgeconservation.com.au/)
Personal History >>- Planet Ark - Sign Writing - Truck Driver for "Dangerous Goods" - Cartridge business
       * Now has about 140 test printers - patents pending in 17 countries and has exhibited
all over the world inc. Las Vegas.
*Overseas recycling is mandatory and this is the coming thing. European laws mandate that
        printer cartridges must be refillable.
*Problems in the industry include lack of knowledge and Greed.
*There is a big difference between Refilling, Recycling and
        Remanufacturing  (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Remanufacturing)
        {also see http://www.reman.org/   "... TRI is a global non-profit organization
providing support for the marketing efforts of the aftermarket remanufactured products community"
*Planet Ark (http://www.planetark.com/) is involved on recycling only not remanufacturing.
*Laser Printers (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Laser_printer)  are usually 600 x 600 dpi (See Wikipedia link)
        ***Strong suggestions***
*Keep the manual in a safe place and READ IT!
*Remove the paper in the direction that it is supposed to travel instead or pulling it backwards.
*Turn a printer off for 30 minutes to clear the memory if its acting strangely.
        >"... Thermal Inkjets: Most consumer inkjet printers, such as Canon, HP, and Lexmark
(but not Epson printers) use a thermal inkjet;"
        >"... Piezoelectric Inkjets: All Epson printers use a piezoelectric crystal in each nozzle instead of a heating element."
*Tips and Tricks => Care of cartridges => stop printing when you first have trouble and refill
rather than completely draining a cartridge.
=> get your cartridge refilled within 4 days => make sure the ink you use to refill is the correct quality
=> sit the print head of removable cartridges on wet tissue to soften and unblock (not Epson or Canon)
*Questions to ask a salesman => what is the duty cycle? ( http://www.gcn.com/print/21_14/18907-1.html )
"... What is a duty cycle? This rates the limits of a printer's monthly output. You should choose a printer
with about two to four times the duty cycle rating of the number of pages you normally print. "
=> What is the page cost to run this printer? {Take a look at =>} ( http://www.nifty-stuff.com/inkjet-printer-tco.php )
"... I've got a finance background and love MS Excel. Combine this with my addiction to refilling
inkjets and here's what you get: THE PRINTER TOTAL COST OF OWNERSHIP WORKSHEET!"
                   " ( http://www.nifty-stuff.com/Printing-Cost-Of-Ownership.xls )"
=> Are there any HIDDEN COSTS.
*What's in the future? Take a look at Mem Jet Printers ( http://www.memjet.com/pages.aspx?id=technology )
